According to the Ontario birth registration (1947 #501129), Nellie Ross Manahan (daughter of James H Manahan and Ann Jane Miller was born in Lanark, 30 January 1891.
According to the Ontario marriage registration (1921 #008575), Nellie Ross Manahan (daughter of John Manahan and Ann Jane Miller) married Edwy Vincent Armstrong in Ottawa, 29 June 1921.

In hospital on Sunday, January 19, 1982, in her 101st year. Widow of Edwy V. Armstrong. Dear aunt of Murial and Arthur Haley and Mrs. Ruth Brown. Fondly remembered by grandnephew Gregory Brown and grandnieces Barbara Haley (Colin Gray) and Laura Haley (Ken Callaghan). Friends may call at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
