According to the 1901 census of Eardely, Quebec, Hannah Barnes was born in Quebec, 3 September 1889.
According to the Ontario marriage registration (1915 #002899), Hannah Louisa Barnes (daughter of Robert Barnes and Margaret Storey) married John Walter Overton in Ottawa, 5 January 1915.
The text below is taken from The Ottawa Citizen newspaper, 17 November 1990, page D13. Peacefully in hospital on Friday, November 16, 1990; Hannah Overton, in her 102nd year. Dear mother of Bob (Myrtle), Rose Tompkins (Norm), Irene Hamelin, June Brosch (Bill) and Edith Chapman. Predeceased by daughter Katie Marshall. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1098 Byron Avenue at Woodroffe, on Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. followed by cremation at Pinecrest Crematorium. Memorial contributions to the Rich Little Fund, Account Number 032759, c/o the Ottawa Civic Hospital Foundation, 1053 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, K1Y 4E9, would be appreciated.
