SALMON, Stafford
Long time resident of McKellar Park and more recently of Unitarian House. Born in Ulverston, Lake District, England, in 1887. Died peacefully at Ottawa Civic Hospital, May 31, 1988. Until shortly after W.W.II, he was a Foreman and Chief Engineer at Ottawa Car and Aircraft Company and, for 31 years, was bass soloist in the choir at St. Andrews Church. Predeceased by his wife May Britton and dear daughter Elizabeth (Drolet). He is survived by 4 grandchildren: Ken Drolet of Nepean; Tom Drolet of Mississauga; Judi McGill of Winnipeg; and Ron Drolet of Victoria; as well as several great-grandchildren. Private interment at Pinecrest Cemetery following cremation.
According to the Ontario marriage registration (1915 #003031), Stafford Salmon (son of John Salmon and Mary Handyside) married May Britton in Ottawa, 9 August 1915.
