In hospital peacefully on Monday, January 9, 1984, Dr. Thomas Doyle Higginson, in his 103rd year; beloved husband of the late Gladys Lewis. Dearly loved father of Gladys (Mrs. Lorne L. Smith), Dorothy (Mrs. F.S. Marshall), Shirley (Mrs. T.D. Coughtrey) and Arthur Higginson. Loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dr. Higginson was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, in 1881, and practised Dentistry in Ottawa for 50 years. He was a life-member of the Lodge of Fidelity AF and AM and a life-member of the Governor General's Curling Club. Friends may call at Hulse and Playfair, Central Chapel, 315 McLeod Street, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral in the Chapel on Wednesday, time to be announced. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
According to the Ontario marriage registration (1913 #003074), Thomas Doyle Higginson (son of Thomas D Higginson and Margaret Owens) married Gladys Lewis in Ottawa, 7 October 1913.
According to the Ontario birth registration (1881 #027612), Thomas Doyle Higginson (son of Thomas T Higginson, farmer, and Margaret Owens) was born in Hawkesbury village, 21 August 1881. His father may have been the registrar.
